There are several types of backing you can choose. The standard backing is PVC. If
the patch is a sew-on patch then you should choose PVCor none.

A patch can be designed with the backgound cloth as part of the pattern. Most patches are
made this way. The patch price increases as the embroidery coverage increases.

There are several types of borders which you can choose. The most common is the
merrowed border (
see design tips
) which is an outside stitch looped around the edge of the
patch for simple round or rectangular shapes. Complex borders require a hot knife cut which
increases the price slightly.
